Overview

MTR-i Team Role Theory examines the differing roles that team members perform. It is mainly concerned with two domains: team performance and personal growth.

Key Principles Summary

The three key principles of Team Role Theory, that have a significant impact on both team and individual performance, are Adaptation, Synchronisation and Stretch.

Adaptation

'Adaptation' is an important principle in team role theory: good adaptation produces high performance. Many examples of poor adaptation can be seen in everyday events.

Synchronisation

Synchronisation is a technique that enables a team to make rapid progress in discussions: it involves all team members using the same team role at the same time.

Stretch

Stretch is the difference between one preferences and behaviour, between Myers Briggs preferences and MTR-i team role.
