Conversion Weight™

The below simulator provides opportunity to set Position Weights and Conversion Weights for the tower that we have been looking at since the start of the course.

A conversion weight of "1" (one) is a normal rate of conversion, less than one means ads tend to convert poorly, more than one means they tend to convert particularly well. The default values demonstrate that the effect of smartpricing is to decrease your income.

  Position Actual Conversion
Advertiser Weight eCPM Weight

Starting eCPM
Smartpriced eCPM

(The above CPM figure is Google's gross income, your share would be less, say 70%)

NB: In this simulator, you can increase your eCPM above the starting eCPM by giving ads a very high conversion weight. In the Adsense system, and in our Adsense Simulator, this doesn't happen. Smartpricing only discounts clicks, it never inflates the price.

Now that you know how to use Position Weight and understand Conversion Weight, on the next page I'll introduce the full Adsense Simulator.
