i’m trying to decide on a specialty in medicine. i love working with people, interviewing, asking question, listening, coming up with diagnoses, thinking of the underlying processes. i love being able to combine both my feeling/empathetic side and problem solving/logical side. i dislike having short amount of time with patient and when i am expected to ignore much of the patient and treat only one aspect of their illness. i dislike the hours and stress but also thrive under pressure. The pay is good. The job is very social and somewhat routine and patients are always different. i like that. i dont like sitting at a desk most the day or answering phones.
